Ruben Zavala

your humble narrator
From the blackest depths of the furthest reaches of the darkest corners of the most twisted imaginations arises the entity that has come to be known as Ruben Zavala, the host of the talk radio program that is referred to in reverence and hushed tones by the Saturday 11am-1pm initiates as “The [RUBEN ZAVALA] Radio Program featuring [ruben zavala].”
No, no, it’s not really as melodramatic as all of that. Ruben (seen here referring to himself in the third person) was born and raised in El Paso, Texas to a family of two parents and three older sisters. After spending the first eighteen years of his life tromping around the Northeast side of town, he left to Austin, Texas where he occasionally attended the University of Texas, but more often spent his time carousing with the local wildlife in and around the downtown area. Many adventures, fraught with dramas and traumas, befell our humble narrator during his stint in our state’s capital, but the city of El Paso called back to him with her siren song, and like the proverbial rubberband our hero snapped right back into a life of serenity and apathy in a town plagued by political turmoil and corruption. After pulling his head out of the bucket and taking a look at his surroundings, your humble narrator realized that he could no longer live in silence and thus resigned himself, tongue planted firmly in cheek, to claw up the ranks of the talk radio circuit, inching further and further up the ladder until he arrived where he is today. Upon this lofty perch he resides so that his voice and the voices of others may be shouted loudly from the apex of this towering soapbox that is known as KHRO 1150 Talk Radio. So it was written, so it was done, and “The [RUBEN ZAVALA] Radio Program featuring [ruben zavala]“ was born. The program serves as the last bastion of sanity in an insane world where we are free to discuss topics such as local and national politics, mainstream and alternative culture, literature, gaming, music, philosophy and anything else that is interesting and relevant to us as citizens of the city, the country and the world.
And now, for no reason whatsoever, here is a picture of the host with a beautiful woman in a silly costume:
Sarah? Is that you?
